A Pocket Scanner
Office Lens is pretty much akin to having a scanner handy at all times. Within a matter of seconds, the tool can digitize blackboard or whiteboard notes. It lets you find business cards and other important documents, and you can also sketch ideas and snap them for use later. Moreover, you can share the captured images with your friends and colleagues. You may make virtual copies of business cards, printed documents, posters, etc. and have them precisely trimmed too. Handwritten and printed text would be recognized automatically, with the help of the built-in OCR (optical character recognition). This would help you look for texts in pictures and have them copied and edited.
Office Lens has quite a few modes up its sleeve. The whiteboard mode lets you trim and clear shadows and glare. With document mode, you can trim and set right the color of your images. The scanned image could be saved to the cloud (OneDrive or OneNote) or locally to your computer. The business card mode helps you extract contact details and save them to your OneNote and address book. The feature works perfectly with business cards in English, Spanish, Mandarin and German.
